Marengo's Volunteer Fire Department not only provides services for the city residents, it also provides fire service for rural residents in townships surrounding Marengo.  The department also provides mutual aid to the neighboring fire departments of Amana, Belle Plaine, Blairstown, Ladora, and Williamsburg.  In addition the Fire Department oversees the fireworks display during the City's annual July 3rd celebration.
