CITY COUNCIL
MARENGO, IA
The City of Marengo operates under a Mayor-Council form of government. The Mayor and 5-member Council are elected at-large and are non-partisan. The Mayor is the presiding officer of the Council. The Mayor is not a member of the Council and may not vote as a member. However, Marengo's Mayor does retain the authority to veto any ordinance, amendment or resolution passed by the City Council. In the absence of the Mayor, the Council meeting is conducted by the Mayor Pro-Tem.
Council meetings are held the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month beginning at 6:00 p.m. and are open to the public. Please use the east door of City Hall to access the Council Chambers. |
